The Only Jesus Lyrics

He stumbled in the Quik Stop, scared us all to death
When he cursed at me for staring, I smelt the liquor on his breath
As I felt my anger rising, you know the thought occurred to me
I might be the only Jesus he will ever seeSo I turned to him and smiled, yes, he thought that I was strange
When I said I'll pray for you and offered him some change
I couldn't help but wonder, as he stared back at me
I might be the only Jesus he will ever seeAnd who am I to judge him, don't know what he's been through
If I read the Bible right, it's only something God can do
If I can help him out of darkness, let him see the light in me
I might be the only Jesus he will ever seeI went back outside to the car with my wife and kids
I felt like we were followed, turned around and it was him
And though he didn't say a word, oh, it really got to me
When he looked at me and smiledAnd who am I to judge him, don't know what he's been through
If I read the Bible right, it's only something God can do
If I can help him out of darkness, let him see the light in me
I might be the only Jesus he will ever see, yeah
I might be the only Jesus he will ever see
