The Safest Place Lyrics

Thank God, you were by my side
On a night, on a night, on a nightDaytime, I'm fine
Everything is back to normal
Last night I thought that I would dieI had nightmares, I was so scared
Thank God that you were by my side
To hold me when I criedI wanna be strong
But I don't wanna be alone tonight
I wanna believe that I can save the world
And make it rightBut I believe that you've got a hero's face
Right here in your arms is the safest place
The safest placeIt feels so real
You showed me I can trust you
With emotions I had locked awayIt was your touch, your words
They hear the deepest part of me
That only you can seeI wanna be strong
But I don't wanna be alone tonight
I wanna believe that I can save the world
And make it rightBut I believe that you've got a hero's face

Right here in your arms is the safest placeAs long as I'm with you
As long as I can feel you
That's all I need to keep me going
On and on and on and onI wanna believe that I can save the world
And make it right
I believe that you've got a hero's face
Right here in your arms is the safest placeRight here in your arms is the safest place
The safest place, the safest place

She is most recognized for her crossover hit "How Do I Live" which, according to the Billboard charts, is one of the most successful songs in American music history, spending 69 weeks on the charts, more than any other song in American history. While country singer Trisha Yearwood's version of the song won a Grammy in 1998, Rimes' version outsold Yearwood's by millions of copies.
