The Sweetest Wave Lyrics

I'll never understand
Why I have been saved
The sea sings its master plan
Over the wavesSun rise upon the line
Buckling drift
The path that I walked along
Is lost in the driftSo far away from my home
Will the stars return? The wave of oppressive lights
This colorless storm
At peace with the thirst inside
Away from the swarmMoments of peace will come
The wind at my heals
My body's lifeless age
Is lost to its feelSo far away from my home
Will the stars return?
Home is where I needed you
Salvation in dreamsHeaven above me, water below me
How can I survive this?

Swallow the sea, blood draining me too far
And I cannot stand itAnd I cannot stand it anymore
And I cannot stand it anymore
And I cannot stand it anymoreCollusus returning, mountain is singing
Fish are fresh from the killing
Breath hitting me return to the sea to sleepHe tries to command it, Elanor
He tries to command it, Elanor
He tries to command itDearest hope has gone away
Swaying out so far from me
Golden hair to palm my sway
Sweetest wave
Bring me home, bring me homeBring me home
Bring me home
Bring me home
Bring me home

Funeral for a Friend is a post-hardcore band from Wales. They formed in 2001 as a sextet called January Thirst. This did not last long, and in 2002 Funeral for a Friend recorded their debut EP Between Order and Model with their original 6-piece line up. After having been together for just a few months, the band changed their line up and subsequently signed a deal with Warner Brothers records for whom they recorded their second EP Four Ways To Scream Your Name.
