The Tourist Lyrics

Yes, its back on the road again
I just got me some new found friends
And its alright, yeah, its alrightFlew away at the speed of sound
I threw up when we touched down
But Im alright, Ill be alrightNew Yorks bakin in the sun
Got the news it just made number one
Here we go for one more memory
Way back here in the twentieth centuryThat night in Amsterdam
You saw me for what I am
And you found out
Yeah, you found me outAnd I knew what I saw in you
And I still cant believe its true
But Ill find out, Im gonna find outMeanwhile back down on Fifth Avenue
Raphael just bought some brand new shoes
Me, Im wiped out, Im dead on my feet
Come a long long way from Baker StreetIm watchin a night come down
And were headin for one more town
But its alright, yeah its alrightWho cares what the night might bring

Cause were ready for anything
So its alright, yeah, its alrightHeading out across the U.S.A.
Californias still a long long way
Here we go for one more memory
Way back here in the twentieth century

Gerald Rafferty (born April 16, 1947, in Paisley, UK and died 4 January 2011) was a Scottish singer and songwriter. In his early years, Gerry Rafferty earned money by the formerly illegal practice of busking on the London Underground. Poetically, his biggest hit "Baker Street" was about busking at a tube station. After working with Billy Connolly (now better known as a comedian) in a band known as The Humblebums, he recorded a first solo album, Can I Have My Money Back.
