The Train Lyrics

The heavy rain
Feels like tears on her face
Waiting for the train
She is leaving for a new place'Cause she and I
Something wasn't right
We were so uptight
She had to say goodbyeShe's going to the city
She's going to the city
She's leaving her people
And all her troubles behindThe roses in the garden
That she planted long ago
I put them in a vase so I'd
I get a chance to knowWhat it was like to live
With someone who could do this
What it was like to live
With someone now she doesn't missShe's going to the city
She's going to the city
She's leaving her people

And all her troubles behindAnd yes she's so happy
Like she never thought she could be
She's going to the city
On her runaway trainI didn't know what was going on
Too busy to care about what you were
Living through
Living throughShe's going to the city
Oh oh oh oh oh
She's leaving her people
And all her troubles behindAnd yes she's so happy
Like she never thought she could be
She's going to the city
On her runaway train
On her runaway train

Formed by multi instrumentalists Xavier Boyer, Médéric Gontier, Sylvain Marchand & Pedro Resende, Tahiti 80 ’s adventure began in the French cities of Rouen and Paris in the mid 90s. Singer/ guitarist Boyer and bassist Resende formed the pop combo as students at the University of Rouen, sharing an affinity for indie music, new wave and sixties pop. Taking their name from a souvenir t-shirt given to Boyer's father in 1980, the duo recruited guitarist Mederic Gontier, and with the addition of drummer Sylvain Marchand a year later, the lineup was complete.
