The Truth About Me Lyrics

I'd really rather be alone
I'd really rather be on my own
What part of no don't you understand
Won't you just let go of my hand
Maybe it's just time you knew the truthDon't think I'm coming off as rude
I really like this solitude
My company suits me just fine
In fact I think it's quite divine
Maybe it's just time you knew the truthHey, hey I love to hear myself talk
I'm my own favorite audience
'Cause I'm the funniest person I know
If you were me I'm sure you'd agreeI know you claim I'm being vague
But I'm afraid it's not that way
You can come over don't stay long
Call me next week 'cause I'll be gone
Maybe it's just time you knew the truthHey, hey, I love to hear myself talk
I'm my own favorite audience
'Cause I'm the funniest person I know

If you were me I'm sure you'd agreeI'm building up my barricade
I'd rather if you don't invade
Oh I'm sick of all this obligation
Do you really need more explanation
Maybe this time you will finally seeThat hey, hey, I love to hear myself talk
I'm my own favorite audience
'Cause I'm the funniest person I know
If you were me I'm sure you'd agreeHey, hey
Hey, hey
Hey, hey

Dance Hall Crashers came into existence after Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman disbanded from the legendary ska-punk band Operation Ivy. Both departed soon after the Crashers' formation (and later reunited in Rancid), leaving vocalist Elyse Rogers and guitarist Jason Hammon to lead the band.
The Dance Hall Crashers recorded a few songs during their first year (these are featured on The Old Record), and in 1990, they made their most notable lineup change, adding second vocalist Karina Denike.
