The Truth Lyrics

It's 3 A.M.
It's cold outside, you can't sleep
Is it from your conscience talking
To the skeletons you keep?Every time you try to speak
Only craziness comes out
But she can't turn the other cheek
And you can't hide how it comes outSo when did you decide to embrace
What you hate to survive
'Cause that's not what got us hereIt's 8 A.M. and still no sleep
But you don't care
I don't know why I keep on calling
Does it get us anywhere?'Cause every time I try to speak
You never let my words come out
I can't turn the other cheek
And I can't help how this comes outSo when did you decide to embrace
What you hate to survive
'Cause that's not what got us hereHonestly, I don't know how you could see
Something you once saw in me

Just another ball of tearsWonder if you ever lie awake in bed
And think about the things you said
Your dedication shows that you can't see
Your eyes are closedAnd all the promises you made to me
They seem to fade and leave me
With this disappointment
That these words can never showWhen your ride is over
And you're hanging by a thread
As your house of cards is falling
Just remember what I saidSo when do you decide to embrace
You hate to survive
'Cause that's not what got us hereAnd honestly, I don't know how you could see
Something you once saw in me
Just another ball of tears

Staind is an alternative metal band formed on November 24, 1995 in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. After meeting through friends and covering pop hits of the day in smalltime clubs for a year and a half, Staind self-released their debut album, Tormented, in November 1996, citing influences in brutal latin thrash metal. Until recently, the album was difficult to obtain, as only four thousand copies were originally sold. Since then, the band's official website has released the album to meet the demand from fans.
