The Twilite Kid Lyrics

Rock steady, baby, your man is dead
Be careful, sugar, of who you call a friend
'Cos they'll get you in the endStep easy, baby, and don't you cry
She had another brother on the side
You could not let it slideAnd if, my love, I said, "I'm sorry"
Would you believe me? Should I cry?
Then hold me, as I dieAnd the ones who live
Are the ones who fly
And the ones who crawl
Come crawlin' by and by
On back to you againBut, I ain't ever gonna see you again
And I'm never gonna feel you again
So let this moment never endAnd if, my love, I said, "I'm sorry"
Would you believe me? Should I cry?
Then hold me, as I die, as I dieAnd if, my love, I said, "I'm sorry"
Would you believe me? Should I cry?
Then hold me, hold me, hold me
hold me, hold me, hold me, hold me as I die

The Twilight Singers is an alternative American band. The group was initially formed as a side project by The Afghan Whigs leader Greg Dulli in 1997. After the Whigs disbanded The Twilight Singers became an artistic vehicle, and has released four albums backed by international tours. While in-between Afghan Whigs albums and amidst a dispute with their record label, Elektra, Dulli recorded demos for the act with friends and collaborators Shawn Smith (Brad, Satchel, Pigeonhed) and Harold "Happy" Chichester (Royal Crescent Mob, Howlin' Maggie) in New Orleans.
