The Wanderer Lyrics

Dance for me, sweetheart while I strum my guitar
You sure look pretty tonight
I've just come off the road and I could use the company
Now that would suit me just fine
Now I've seen a lot of special things around this world
You can see them too, you can
What's that you ask? I have no name, I have no name
For I am known only as a man, for I am known only as a man
I'm a wanderer, I have no place or time
I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine
And if you like, you can come along with me
But I promise you that I am not the man I used to be
But I promise you that I am not the man I used to be
Now you and I, we've seen our share of ups and downs
Somehow where we just lost hope
I can't change the past but who cares?
Your love is all I've ever known, your love is all I've ever known
I'm a wanderer, I have no place or time

I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine
And if you like, you can come along with me
But I promise you that I am not the man, I used to be
But I promise you that I am not the man, I used to be, no
No, no, no, no, no, no
I'm a wanderer, I have no place or time
I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine
And if you would accept me for me
Then I promise you that there's a better man inside of me
'Cause I promise you that there's a better man inside of me
Look I promise you that there's a better man inside of me
I'm a wanderer, I have no place or time
I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine
If you would, if you would, if you would
I'm a wanderer, I have no place or time
I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine
I'm a wanderer, I have no place or time
I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine
I'm a wanderer, I have no place or time
I'm just drifting on this lonely road of mine
If you would, if you would, if you would

Marc Broussard (born January 14, 1982) is an American singer and songwriter. The Louisiana native released his first major album (with Island Def Jam Records) on August 3, 2004. The album's title Carencro pays tribute to the musician's hometown of Carencro, Louisiana. His style is best described as "Bayou Soul," a mix of funk, blues, R&B, rock, and pop, matched with distinct Southern roots.

Marc is best known for the songs "Where You Are" and "Home." Broussard previously released several independent efforts, including 2002's Momentary Setback which spawned the hit "The Wanderer", a song about self discovery. A re-worked version of the song appears on Carencro. As of July 2005, "Home" was released as a single.

Although Broussard is rather unknown, he is characteristically known and critically praised for his strong vocals. However, he has garnered an uptick in popularity thanks to a snappy tune "Must Be The Water" which is featured in television commercials on TNT for the 2008 NBA All-Star game held in New Orleans.
