The Waves Lyrics

Working at your job all day sends the time spinning away
Watch TV from half past six, cook, make love and pick up sticks
But you can feel the waves crash on the beach at night, at nightBooks you read can sublimate, music seems to dissipate
And maybe just a bottle of wine and a couple of smokes and you'll be fine
But you can feel the waves crash on the beach at night
You can hear the waves crash on the beach at nightYour lover lies beside you fast asleep
The moonlight falls upon the tears you weep
And as you read the waves crash on the beach at night, oh at nightSo all you really need is love, love to give, receive above
And then the waves will soothe your heart
Your one true love will never partTrue love
True love is the answer to everything
True love is the answer, true love is the thing
True love is the answer to everything
True love is the answer, true love is the thingTrue love
True love is the answer to everything
True love is the answer, true love is the thing
True love is the answer to everything
True love is the answer, true love is the thingAnd we will lie together both asleep

The moonlight will supply the tears we weep
And as we breathe the waves crash on the beach at night
And as we breathe the waves crash on the beach at night
On the beach at night

Wang Chung is a british new wave musical group. Originally called Huang Chung which is Chinese for "perfect pitch" (though they later claimed it was the sound a guitar made on American Bandstand), the band formed in 1979. The lineup consisted of vocalist/guitarist Jack Hues, bassist Nick Feldman, saxophonist David Burnand a.k.a "Hogg" and drummer Darren Costin. Their self-titled debut was released by Arista Records in 1982 after several singles, including the minor post-punk hit "Isn't It About Time We Were on TV".
