The Wayward Wind Lyrics

Oh, the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And he was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward windIn a lonely shack by a railroad track
He spent his younger days
And I guess the sound of the outward bound
Made me a slave to his wandering waysOh the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And he was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward windOh, I met him there in a border town
He vowed we'd never part
Though he tried his best to settle down
Now I'm alone with a broken heartOh the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And he was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind
The next of kin to the wayward windThe wayward wind, the wayward wind

Cline was best known for her rich tone and emotionally expressive bold contralto voice, which along with her role as a mover and shaker in the country music industry, has been cited as an inspiration by many vocalists of various music genres.
