The Wind Lyrics

Whichever way that the wind blows
That's where I'll go
I can't think 'bout tomorrow
On down the road to the unknown
I will follow
No more time left to borrow
The voice inside is calling me again
It told me to rest my head
The work is long the worries strong
As far as I can see there is no end
We toil through the dead of winter
The darkness lingers
Waiting for a tired sun to shine
You say you can predict the weather
It'll all get better
Soon enough it will be our turn to thrive
Whichever way that the wind blows
That's where I'll go

I can't think 'bout tomorrow
On down the road to the unknown
I will follow
No more time left to borrow
Whichever way that the wind blows
Whichever way that the wind blows
My hands are cold, a chill is in the air
It's getting so hard to bear
The seasons change but I can't wait
Nobody ever said that life was fair
Floating down a raging river
I start to shiver
I know I'm close to where the water falls
My only choice is to surrender
To a new adventure
Leave it up to chance to make the call
Whichever way that the wind blows
That's where I'll go
I can't think 'bout tomorrow
On down the road to the unknown
I will follow
No more time left to borrow
Whichever way that the wind blows
Whichever way that the wind blows
You're listening to new
Take me, I'm ready, I'm willing
Take me, I'm ready, I'm willing
Take me, I'm ready, I'm ready
Take me, take me
Whichever way that the wind blows
Whichever way that the wind blows
Whichever way that the wind blows
That's where I'll go
I can't think 'bout tomorrow
On down the road to the unknown
I will follow
No more time left to borrow
Whichever way that the wind blows
Whichever way that the wind blows
Whichever way that the wind blows
Whichever way that the wind blows

From Arizona, and San Carlos Mexico. Mark Mulligan writes and sings songs about sailing, beaches, bars, family, and good fun.

In His own words...
Cause as a result, I ended up south of the border, singing and writing songs for a living in a truly magical place, raising my kids in a town I love, spending time in the water instead of in traffic, and singing for people who dance to my tunes one night and the next day join me for charitable work with the "Castaway Kids". Just think, if I had scored that hit record, I could be in rehab by now. Or maybe off trashing a hotel room and getting arrested for the tenth time.

I can't complain about life as an ex-pat in San Carlos, Sonora Mexico. Beats the heck out of Nashville . And the tacos rock. So I won't be scoring that Lexus with Grammy endorsements? Another tortilla, please.

Hey, rather than do what I'm supposed to and con you with a glowing bio about me (that we all know I wrote myself), I'd rather tell you about my family, starting with grandparents who after 70 years of marriage were more in love than ever, followed by my parents who keep that tradition alive with more than fifty one years together, followed by seven of the coolest brothers and sisters you could ever grow up with. And no, we're not Mormon. (Yes, we're Catholic!)

I was blessed with seven years of marriage to a beautiful woman you hear about in many of my songs, Adela (R.I.P.) She left me with two awesome little dudes, Marcos (age 8) and Luis (age 4) They give meaning to my life, and watching them play on the beach while I sing in Mexico ....well it just doesn't get any better for this kid, who grew up hundreds of miles from the ocean in Arizona but was in love with the Sea of Cortez since he was a little boy. I try to reflect that in many of my songs.

And now I've been blessed yet again, with another shot at having our family complete again, as Elsa Maria joins me, Marcos and Luis. Thanks to so many of you for prayers that have definitely been answered, as we wed in summer 2009!

I know, I was supposed to tell you more about my music. Truth is, you're probably reading this because somebody you know told you to check this Mulligan guy out. So if a resume of hit records or sold out world tours is what you're looking for, I'd be happy to refer you to someone else's bio. My musician brother David, for example. (He could use the dough even more than I can.)

However, if you're still reading this and are curious, here's the deal. I'm not a bar guy. Have no interest in singing a love song from the heart while some biker is puking on the pool table. What I am is a guy who loves to sing for folks who want meaning and heart in their music. Who want to hear about sunshine and beaches and sailboats and cantinas and all that fun stuff that life south of the border inspires me to write about. Not only those folks who live that dream, but those who dream about living it one day.

If that sounds like the kind of fellow you'd like to listen to, then I hope to see you at one of my shows! All of my upcoming dates, both in the U.S. and Mexico, are on my website at www.markmulligan.net And if you happen to pick up a CD or two, muchas gracias and please email me at [email protected] to let me know what you think. Thanks to a lot of great people out there, I've put out ten albums, which is about nine more than I ever thought I would! God bless you my friends, and see you on the beach! Read more on Last.fm.
