Then He Touched Me (Re-Recorded) Lyrics

There was a time when I felt I'd never love again
For hurt had taken all my love away
My faith was gone and I knew I'd never trust another man
And loneliness was in my life to stayNot long ago, I met a man, he was so good to me
I never thought of him as one to love
He always seemed to be around when I needed company
He made my world a better place to liveThe other day I noticed, he was staring at me
His eyes looked at me as if to say
I know that you're a woman starved for love and tenderness
You need the love that only I can giveThen he touched me and my world started turnin' once again
When he kissed me my lips started burnin' once again
When he held me my feet just wouldn't touch the ground
Now my world's so bright for there's love all around
Now my world's so bright for there's love all around

Jean Shepard (born November 21, 1933 in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma as Ollie Imogene Shepard)was one of the first female vocalists in the country music field to become a major star in the early 1950's. Shepard's family moved west to Visalia, California in hopes of a better life. In high school, Shepard formed the Melody Ranch Girls, which became locally famous. One night, Country star Hank Thompson saw Shepard performing at a show and liked what he heard. With Thompson's help, Shepard was able to get a recording contract with Capitol Records in 1952.
