There's a New Moon Over My Shoulder Lyrics

There's a new moon over my shoulder and an old love still in my heart
I remember now that I'm older what you told me the day we had to part
You promised with the new moon you'd be coming back to me
Now many moons have passed since then I'm waiting patiently
There's a new moon over my shoulder and an old love still in my heartThere's a new moon over my shoulder and an old love still in my heart
Now I'm wishing that I had been bolder then perhaps we wouldn't be
/so far apart
You promised that you'd write me, so far there's not a line
Still I wait and make believe that some day you'll be mine
There's a new moon over my shoulder and an old love still in my heart
My darling, I've been praying for your safe return to me
Then we'd still be sweetheart just the way we used to be
There's a new moon over my shoulder and an old love still in my heart
