These Lips Don't Know How to Say Goodbye Lyrics

Once I promised, I'd do anything to please you
And looking back you must admit I've tried
Now you stand there and tell me I must leave you
But I can't go, well I guess I must have liedFor these lips don't know how to say goodbye
And my heart doesn't even wanna try
Now these feet can do the walking
Oh but you must do the talking
For these lips don't know how to say goodbyeIf you'd ask me for the stars that shine above you
Then I could come much closer to the mark
So don't stand there and tell me not to love you
Unless you stop the beating of my heartFor these lips don't know how to say goodbye
And my heart doesn't even wanna try
Now these feet can do the walking
Honey you must do the talking
For these lips don't know how to say goodbye
No these lips don't know how to say goodbye, oh no

Country star Doug Stone made his name as a baritone balladeer, even though he's also adept at up-tempo country tunes.
Stone was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and learned guitar at the age of five from his mother, also a country singer. As a teenager, he performed in skating rinks in his hometown and later moved on to playing area bars while working long hours as a mechanic during the day.
It took Stone several years to be “found” by his soon-to-be manager who helped him finally land a record deal with Epic.
