They Don’t Know (featuring Mike Jones) Lyrics

They don't know what that scar 'bout
They don't know what that bar 'bout
They don't know what that candy car 'bout
Or smokin' that joint 'boutTexas is the home of the playas and pimps
Showin' naked ass in the great state of Texas
Third Coast Born, I mean we're Texas raised
Texas muthafucka, that's where I stay, all readyWhat you know 'bout swangaz and vogues?
What you know 'bout purple drank?
What you know 'bout poppin' trunk
Neon lights, candy paint? What you know 'bout white shirts
Starched down jeans with a razor crease
Platinum and gold on top our teeth
Big ol' chains with a iced out piece? You don't know 'bout Michael Watts
You don't know 'bout DJ Screw
What you know 'bout, man, hold up
I done came down and what it do?They don't know 'bout P.A.T
What you know 'bout Free Pimp C?
What you know 'bout the Swishahouse, man?

What you know 'bout the S.U.C?We keep it playa, ain't no fake
When we holdin' plex whenever haters hate
We listen to music, screwed and chopped
Down here in this Lonestar stateOutta towners be comin' around
Runnin' they mouth and talkin' down
But you don't know nuthin' 'bout my town
Either hold it down or move aroundThey don't know what that scar 'bout
They don't know what that bar 'bout
They don't know what that candy car 'bout
Or smokin' that joint 'boutTexas is the home of the playas and pimps
Showin' naked ass in the great state of Texas
Third Coast Born, I mean we're Texas raised
Texas muthafucka, that's where I stay
(Mike Jones)Me and Paul we actin' a fool
When screens fall I'm packin' a tool
I'm Texas raised, Texas made
We grind daily, no minimum wageI represent the home of candy cars
Screw music and purple bar
Trunk bangin', fifth hangin'
84's and vogue swangin'Belt-buckles we wear in Texas
Rag-tops lay down on Lexus
Diamonds shinin' from grillin' necklace
Haters hate, 'cuz we well respectedPaul Wall and Mike Jones
Who one of the throwedest on the microphone
We sittin' high on twenty inch chrome
Tryin' to get our shine onI said, Paul Wall and Mike Jones
Who one of the throwedest on the microphone
We sittin' high on twenty inch chrome
Tryin' to get our shine onI crack a smile and show platinum mouth
Every time I rap I rep Swishahouse
I spit a verse and head straight to the vaults
Five G's for me to even open my mouthThey don't know what that scar 'bout
They don't know what that bar 'bout
They don't know what that candy car 'bout
Or smokin' that joint 'boutTexas is the home of the playas and pimps
Showin' naked ass in the great state of Texas
Third Coast Born, I mean we're Texas raised
Texas muthafucka, that's where I stayAll Ready, hold on, hold up a second
'Cuz boys comin' down blue or red
Down here pimpin' ain't dead
Grindin' daily to stack my breadI from the place where girls jump fly
Now a days the brauds pimp brauds
'Cuz they got more game then most these guys
You'll get set up and then you'll get robbedYou don't know 'bout chunkin' a deuce
You don't know 'bout a southside fade
Down here we be ridin' D's
But you don't know about choppin' bladesTexas southern or Prairie View
What you know 'bout battle of the bands
Down here we got ghetto girls
Like wings, chicken or Timmy Chan'sYou can catch me ridin' swangs
What you know 'bout sippin' syrup
You don't know 'bout pourin' it up
Purple drank some speeches slurredYou don't know 'bout the way we talk
Boys say we got country words
But I don't really care what you heard
'Cuz you don't know 'bout the dirty thirdThey don't know what that scar 'bout
They don't know what that bar 'bout
They don't know what that candy car 'bout
Or smokin' that joint 'boutTexas is the home of the playas and pimps
Showin' naked ass in the great state of Texas
Third Coast Born, I mean we're Texas raised
Texas muthafucka, that's where I stayTexas muthafucka, that's where I stay
Texas muthafucka, that's where I stay

Paul Wall (born Paul Slayton on March 30, 1980) is an American rapper, DJ, and promoter from Houston, Texas. Notable as one of the few successful white Southern rappers, Slayton is affiliated with Swishahouse Records, formerly Swisha Blast Records. Slayton is a graduate of Jersey Village High School and studied mass communications at the University of Houston for three years. Paul Wall was originally one-half of Houston power duo The Color Changing Click, alongside long-time partner (and now estranged acquaintance) Chamillionaire.

Wall's first music industry exposure came as a street team member on the Northwest side of Houston, promoting southern artists such as T.I. and labels like Cash Money and The New No Limit. He is also an accomplished and proficient mixtape and party DJ, known for producing mixtapes in the now-well-known screwed & chopped style, which was invented by the late DJ Screw. While he has recently stated on record that South LE. (in Houston's southside) is his base of operations, it is not the neighborhood that Paul Wall is actually from. Paul Wall has claimed several such neighborhoods over his career, starting with De Soto in Acres Homes (his original home neighborhood), then switching to Gulf Bank (also in Acres Homes).

Paul Wall, Chamillionaire and Jon Higgins were originally affiliated with Swishahouse Records, but left for Paid in Full Records a short time later. After several mixtape and independent releases, including the critically acclaimed Get Ya Mind Correct, the two parted ways on bad terms. Chamillionaire continued to release independent records, while Paul Wall returned to the Swishahouse fold. This move allowed him to appear on Mike Jones' first commercially distributed single, "Still Tippin'", from his first major label album Who Is Mike Jones?.

His major label debut, The People's Champ, has produced a lead single, "Sittin' Sidewayz", which is receiving national radio and television play. In August, 2005, rumors began to circulate that Paul Wall and Chamillionaire had settled any differences that remained between them, and are again on good terms with one another. Paul Wall also appeared with GLC on the song Drive Slow on Kanye West's second solo album, Late Registration.

Paul Wall is the owner and proprietor of TV Jewelry in Houston. The store specializes in the production of grills, silver, gold, or platinum caps and diamond inlays (usually princess-cut diamonds). Grills have become a growing trend in rap culture and have even influenced its own song. "Grillz", by Nelly ft. Paul Wall along with other artists, where at one point Paul raps "Call me George Foreman 'cause I'm sellin' everybody grillz.)
