They Put a Body In the Bayou Lyrics

They never came to town
He really gets me down
Take off that plastic Crown
Coke nose and a pretty soundAlright make it quick
Good songs make you rich
That feelin' it'll pass
Good boys come in last
Bad Girl by my side poppin' pills on the fly
Don't breathe when I die
I came by to see you
I just had to know
Who put the body in the bayou
Who left the tracks on the road
Told me act your age
That's why she's underage
Said her papa hates the Federal Aids(?) and
When he drinks too much he smacks her faceAlright make it quick
Good songs make you rich

That feelin' it'll pass
Good boys come in last
Bad Girl by my side poppin' pills on the fly
Don't breathe when I die
I came by to see you
I just had to know
Who put the body in the bayou
Who left the tracks on the road
I came by to see you
I just had to know
Who put the body in the bayou
Who left the tracks on the road

For The Orwells, Remember When will be an introduction of sorts—the 12-track rat-race shows the band’s repertoire of pranging riffs and sneering, snot-nosed vocals. The tracks are a walloping war-cry from a generation that up until this point has only offered bubblegum pop—the animus of The Orwells. It’s quite clear early on the in listening to the LP that the band is well aware of the past, the homage rings through the record, using the ghost of punk’s past as their musical sprit guide.
