This Is A War Lyrics

You weren't holy
That face
Written in the bad books, trouble all the way
Just like a fighter
Me, same story, same page
I was a ladder searching for a fame
Together, we burned brighterLooking for a battle
Ready for the pain
Knew it was a challenge, everything's a game
Seemed easy, seemed so easy
If I gotta fight
For the right
To be loved and to love
Then this is a war
If we can't be free
You and me
To be loved and to love
Then what is this for?

If this is a warYou wasn't perfect
That I thought it was cool
You were my bad boy straight out of the hood
Yeah, it was all good
You, a little tragic
Me, a little bold
Dangerous ecstatic
We couldn't be told
Together, we weren't alone
Looking for a battle
Ready for the pain
Knew it was a challenge, everything's a game
Seemed easy, seemed so easyIf I gotta fight
For the right
To be loved and to love
Then this is a war
If we can't be free
You and me
To be loved and to love
Then what is this for?
If this is a warWill the words ever make a change?
We've come too far to turn back now
Stronger together, we are one
One word, a million miles away
Two hearts, one life
One you and IIf I gotta fight
For the right
To be loved and to love
Then this is a war
Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me
If we can't be free
You and me
To be loved and to love
Then what is this for?
If this is a warWar
If this is a warTell me, tell me, tell me, tell me
If this is a warYou weren't holy
That face
Written in the bad books, trouble all the way
Just like a fighter
Me, same story, same page
I was a ladder searching for a fame
Together, we burned brighter, brighter, brighter, brighter

All Saints are a English/Canadian pop music girl group that enjoyed considerable critical and commercial success. The group comprises founding members Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis, and sisters Nicole and Natalie Appleton.

Their debut album, All Saints, was released in 1997 with the first single "I Know Where It's At" reaching #4 on the UK charts. The next single, "Never Ever", launched All Saints as stars, selling over two million copies in the United Kingdom also. They later went on to release their second full length studio album, Saints & Sinners in 2000.

In their five year career, the band scored a total of five #1 singles. They split acrimoniously in 2001 after much speculation and rumour. Nicole and Natalie went on to form the duo Appleton, whilst Melanie and Shaznay have also gone on to enjoy (moderate) solo success.

On January 24, 2006 it was announced that the band had reformed. All Saints had signed a deal with Parlophone Records and their comeback single for the label, 'Rock Steady' was a considerable commercial success, charting at number 2. However, 'Studio 1', their third album peaked at a disappointing number 40 in the UK chart.

A further single - 'Chick Fit' - was released via download only, and the group left Parlophone shortly after.

All Saints are reportedly in the process of recording a new album.
