This Was Our Love Lyrics

This was our love for the very first time
This was our love for the very first time
You were dancing, I was singing
Well it really wasn't my kind of place
You were carefree, I was nervous
You were no more than just another face. This was our love for the very first time
This was our love, very first time
I was working hard, you looked so cool
And I was thinking still an hour to go.Your friends were drinking
But you seemed to listen
Well it was no more than just another show. And this was our love for the very first time
This was our love, very first time
Just as I was losing interest
Just as I was losing heart
You looked and me and smiled
Took my part. And this was our love for the very first time
This was our love, the very first time.INSTRUMENTALJust as I was gettin' to know ya
Loving your misty gaze

Morning comes and we go
Our separate ways. And this was our love for the very last time
And this was our love for the very last time
And this was our love for the very last time
And this was our love for the very last time
(Repeat and fade).

Clifford Thomas Ward - Born 10 February 1944, Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire — 18 December 2001 Clifford T. Ward typified the early 70s bedsitter singer-songwriter with a series of albums that were at best delightful and at worst mawkish. Ward left grammar school before A-levels to work as a clerk, but by 1962 was fronting local beat group Cliff Ward and the Cruisers. The group changed their name to Martin Raynor and the Secrets and made their recording debut for EMI Records in 1965, before recording several more tracks as the Secrets for CBS Records.
