Throwing Darts Lyrics

So sorry you think I'm not the best
I didn't know I had to pass your fucking test
you're throwing darts
but what a price I'm paying for all the stupid thing you're saying
you write in cheap shots everyday
did you think I won't hear what you say?
it's pathetic - you never got the point
I shouldn't let my nose get out of joint
this is serious, it's not a game
poured it on, and still you say we're lame
a sad state we're in we worked so hard to make this real
I didn't think that you came with the deal
faceless, nameless, safe behind a screen
but did you ever stop to think what words could mean?
it's pathetic - you never got the point
I shouldn't let my nose get out of joint
this is serious, it's not a game
poured it on, and still you say I'm lame

it might be stupid, might be naive
but there are some things we can all believe
throwing darts again
throwing darts again
and I know to you I'm just a name but I wonder if you'd feel the same
everything I stand for, you never got
so here I am with my heart exposed, take your best shot
just put me up against the wall
take off my blindfold
put on yours
line up - fire
you're throwing darts again and again and again

Brian Baker, formerly of Minor Threat, formed Dag Nasty with Colin Sears, Roger Marbury and Shawn Brown in 1985. Shawn's replacement on vocals (by ex- DYS frontman Dave Smalley) shortly before the recording of their debut full-length, Can I Say, began a revolving door membership that was to continue throughout their duration as a band (ultimately leaving Brian as the only original member.) Dag Nasty recorded Can I Say in June 1986, and Wig Out at Denkos in July 1987, for Dischord Records before moving to Giant Records for the release of Field Day in 1988.
