Throwing Stones (Album Version) Lyrics

So call me a bitch in heat and
I'll call you a liar
And we'll throw stones until we're dead
There you go again you cut me off from talkin'You bask in the glory
The center of the circle
All the friends think you're a comedian
So kind and generousAnd I am suffering
Away from here
I want to be
Away from hereAway from here
Away from every little thing
Every little thing
I used to love your every little every little thingSo call me a bitch in heat and
I'll call you a liar
And we'll throw stones until we're dead
You're the puppeteer and I'm the puppetYou manipulate me with your real catholic shit
Everytime I try to talk it through
You turn it around and make it suffer

Like david and goliathAway from here
I want to be
Away from here
Away from hereAway from every little thing
Every little thing
I used to love your every little every little thing
Now you call me a bitch in heat andI'll call you a liar
And we'll throw stones until we're dead
Your arms beneath me
Your lying inside meI used to love your every little every little thing
Your eyes grew stars
Your hand in my purse
And now I hate your every little everything all dayOh mama
I didn't know life was this hard
Oh mama
My innocence has been tarredMy inner vision, dulled and darkened
I keep myself away to you
I fuck my sorrow humbly
And throw my crown upon the groundIt's you I hope for
And us I pray for
And me that I believed that was wrong
And now my anger is my best friendBe careful I may bite your head off
Liar
So call me a bitch in heat and
I'll you a liarAnd we'll throw stones until we're dead
So call me a bitch in heat and
I'll you a liar
And we'll throw stones until we're dead

“Paula is an original voice both in what she is saying and how she is saying it.” – Peter Gabriel.

Grammy winner and 7 time Grammy nominee Paula Cole has released six solo albums spanning an eighteen year career. She has sold approximately three million albums and has performed with icons in many genres of music from Peter Gabriel to Dolly Parton (and many more.) Cole’s emotionally deep and thrilling performances are a trademark. Poetic and fiercely touching, intelligent writing makes Cole stand apart. Her compositions have been covered by Herbie Hancock, Annie Lennox, Katherine McPhee to name a few. From a small town in Massachusetts Paula Cole was raised in a musical family with whom she and her daughter remain close. Cole is a scholarship alumna from Berklee College of Music with a background in jazz, received her first record deal with a jazz label (which she declined), and has collaborated with many jazz artists. Paula teaches and gives clinics in a spirit of giving back to the circle of music. With a loving allegiance to her fans, she maintains loyal communication online and after her live shows. As the first woman in history to solely produce and receive the best Producer Grammy nomination for her work, “This Fire”, Cole has broken boundaries with a searcher’s spirit. From her top ten hits of the 1990’s to her more recent critically acclaimed albums, Paula Cole continues to write, produce, record and perform heartfelt, meaningful, lasting music that defies categorization.
