Times Are Tough in Rock N' Roll Lyrics

Times are tough in rock n roll
Beer can't be bought
wine can't be sold
Thousand lies are getting' told
Times are tough in rock n rollI keep on walkin' my country mile
I got my head up all the while
Some would like to cramp my style
I keep on walking my country mile
Reason is to feel this way
Rollin' Stone has seen its day
All my feelings, all my fears
Were confirmed with Britney SpearsMe and the boys are in the band
We're out seein' this great land
We're not in the hit parade
Ain't nobody gettin' paidTimes are tough in rock n roll
Times are tough in rock n roll
I keep on walkin' my country mile
I got my head up all the whileSome would like to cramp my style

I keep on walkin' my country mile
Times are tough in rock n roll
Beer can't be bought,
Wine can't be soldThousand lies are getting told
Times are tough in rock n roll

Country singer/songwriter Elizabeth Cook made her debut on Grand Ole Opry on March 17, 2000, appearing repeatedly thereafter -- a remarkable achievement considering that, at the time, she was an indie artist with no radio airplay. But such was the excitement generated by her clear, beautiful voice, strong songwriting ability, and live performances, all of which have drawn comparisons to younger, critically respected artists like Kelly Willis and legends such as Dolly Parton.
