To Be Lyrics

To be
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
Okay, then
Mwaah, Voila
Better than it's ever beenCurled up in my brain like a wisp of smoke
Tension's rising high I can feel it in my throat
Hell is other people that I want to escape
The nature of the problem is all bent out of shapeHow can I be certain that in spite of myself
You may be the perfect partner for someone else
After much consideration only one thing remains
While I'm seeking pleasure I'm causing you painIn the not too distant future
Someone is crying for me
And if I'm not mistaken
This is how I want to be
(This is how I want to be)
This is where I wantLeave me as you find me in an elegant mess
I want to feel untouchable like Elliott Ness
I move around my senses like I'm halfway to bliss

There are many things I've done but none of them I missHow can I be certain that in spite of myself
You may be the perfect partner for someone else
After much consideration only one thing remains
While I'm seeking pleasure I'm causing you painIn the not too distant future
Someone is crying for me
And if I'm not mistaken
This is how I want to be
(This is how I want to be)
This is where I wantIn the not too distant future
Someone is crying for me
And if I'm not mistaken
This is how I want to be
(This is how I want to be)
This is how I want to beYeah, he sits with his wife
Tipping her wine
She tells him bout her feelings inside
Says I'm sick of the nights
When you return with a glint in your eye
People's the size the pesky tryHe just smiles
He says that river's run dry
He's finished, confined
Babe, I'm making dinner tonight
Her heart fills with pride
He says go on leave, chill out leave
He breathes and moves to the kitchen
He's through with the bitchin'
In fact, this evening he'll prove what she's missinWell in the form of a rump steak
Containing some changes
And via majors correct the marination
It's like holidays require a vacation
Yeah, okay then
Mwaah Voila
Better than it's ever been
Pinch a suit and they grab a methamphetamineNo ones down with settlin'
She projects a grin, crosses her legs and her chest starts to shrink
She's Russian, but that means somethin'
She's loved him with silence
She can't tell her husband she mustn't
But she urges to touch him
She's struggling to cope by recovery
She leaps on the table
Heels unstable
He smiles and he plans he feels they're unable
She shines and her eyes well
He leans in and says
Welcome to my worldIn the not too distant future
Someone is crying for me
And if I'm not mistaken
This is how I want to be
(This is how I want to be)
This is where I wantIn the not too distant future
Someone is crying for me
And if I'm not mistaken
This is how I want to be
(This is how I want to be)
This is how I want to be.

Morcheeba are a British band that mixes influences from rock, trip hop, rhythm and blues and pop. The word "morcheeba" means "the way of marijuana" ("MOR" - the middle of the road & "Cheeba" - informal name for cannabis).

Formed in 1995, they consisted of Paul Godfrey (dj), Ross Godfrey on guitar and keyboards with Skye Edwards as the primary vocalist fronting the band. While churning up interest through an underground presence mostly in London, the band finally broke through when featured on the Ultra-Chilled series.

Their first two releases seemed to portend a trip-hop based modern psychedelia that they seemed to completely eschew for a meatier, beatier, mom pop-centric sound on 2000's Fragments of Freedom. This completely confounded some fans and critics who immediately wrote them off -- many of whom would later return and eat their words. The band took another big turn in 2005 with The Antidote.

Daisy Martey (formerly of the band noonday underground) joined in 2005 to succeed Skye Edwards. In 2003 the Godfrey brothers made the decision to part with Skye and asked her to leave Morcheeba, she went on to pursue a solo career. However, as Skye Edwards and her voice had become a very integral part of the Morcheeba sound in the minds of many of the band's fans, the rather abrupt switch to a new lead singer had met with mixed reactions, including criticisms that the "new" Morcheeba was no longer as electrifying in person. Perhaps because of this, the Godfrey brothers replaced Daisy with yet another singer - Jody Sternberg - for their live performances.

There was some speculation that Daisy has been dropped completely as lead singer, particularly seeing as Daisy Martey is currently suing Paul Godfrey for sexual harassment, with the band taking on a direction akin to that of Zero 7; another electronica group who rely not on any single lead person but a rotating and ostensibly more flexible assortment of vocalists.

After a break of several years, Morcheeba released their sixth studio album, Dive Deep in February 2008. On this album, the Godfrey brothers emphasised their role as producers creating a set of instrumental tracks entirely sung by a roster of guest performers - cult folk-rock singer Judie Tzuke, Norwegian singer-songwriter and former Jaga Jazzist collaborator Thomas Dybdahl, blues singer/guitarist Bradley Burgess, Korean-American rapper Cool Calm Pete, and French singer Manda.) Both Manda and Burgess toured with Morcheeba as lead singers on their 2008 tour.

On February 12 2010, New Musical Express revealed that Skye Edwards was once again working with the band. Edwards was due to make her live return with the band at the Caprices Festival, Switzerland on April 9 2010.[1] Paul Godfrey confirmed the news of Edwards' return in the blog section of Morcheeba's MySpace page on February 13 2010.[2]

Morcheeba have completed their seventh album "Blood Like Lemonade" due for release on PIAS in June 2010.
