Tongue & Cheek Lyrics

Coming in cheap with the beast out running
Pretty girl I think you're stunning
I'd like to take you home
But I fell out my throne
I never had a place to goThe water is free but the taps stopped running
Pretty girl I think you're stunning
Just suck it in tongue and cheek
Because the river runs deep
Yes the river runs deepI took all my name
I decided to tell
I'd take my own life
Just to see you in hell
But I'm alive
Nobody heard you fell
So I threw you a line
Down a dark wishing wellI heard a noise draw dark aloof
I'm blind but better off than you my friend
But I will need you in the end

A blur got sharp and loud and true
My minds made up
I'm here for you my friend
'Cause you will need me in the end
'Cause I will need you in the endWill need you in the endImmortal air in a fresh cool morning
I need to be there when you wake
To the sound of me speaking peace
For the devil in your sleep
Haunted by the ghost of the man I used to beBirds fly away into the clouds of unknowing
Titans of Aphrodite they show not when you're coming
'Cause you suck it in tongue and cheek
Because the river runs deep
Yes the rivers runs deep
The river runs deep
With all honesty
Yes the river runs deep
But I tell you my friend
The river runs deep

The Sydney based four and sometimes 5 piece have just released their debut, the ironically titled mini-album Extended Play.
From the inner west the band is delivering a refreshing vibe to the Australian music scene, they began when drummer Beaks and bass player Paddy, met busker Dylan, one night outside the Coopers Arms hotel in Newtown. Dylan, fresh from N.Z. and not yet 18, was on the streets with his guitar busking for coin outside the pub. “We met him,” Paddy says, “when the Coopers Arms bouncer started hassling us to give the dude money".
