Too Blind To See Lyrics

when we turned our back's away
they took over
now they hide behind
their law and order
the military gunned down
a welfare line
on state TV they claim
everything's fine
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see
now public protests
aint allowed
the police just gassed
another crowd

under midnight curfew
the streets must clear
all opposing voices
disappear
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see
our broken spirit's
ride a voiceless wave
we've settled inside
a living grave
we pay the church
to protect our souls
god is great
when you've lost control
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see
we're too blind to see

The Freeze are a seminal punk rock band from Cape Cod, Massachusetts that came together in 1978 when they were teenagers. The band is known for their dark lyrics, original punk rock melodies, and their longevity. A lot of their early lyrics deal with alienation, drug-use/abuse and paranoia (especially of the government and especially of the Reagan-Bush years). A constant theme or thread regarding apathetic observers or people willing to give up their freedoms for fear of losing their "security" is also apparent in their work.
