Too Early for the Sun Lyrics

I have never known a love, like this before in my life
Tears can turn into bliss with only a kiss, only a kiss
And I have never held a girl, like you so close in my arms
You appeared in my world and offered me hope for one more timeI've never been so afraid that love is just a dream
Darlin' I'll awake and you'll be gone
Never believe that I could love somebody
Oh, I could love somebody, someone like you
(Never in my life)
Oh, I could love somebody
(I love, I love, I love your love in my life)
Oh, I could love somebody, someone like you
(Oh, I love, I love, I love you)You're too early for the sun, too early for the moon
Too early for the rain comin' down on me
You make me feel so close to home
So far away, like nowhere else I've ever beenYou're too early for the stars, too early for the wind
Too early for my heart, to open up again
But when I see you I just laugh
And I believe, I'm right where I'm supposed to beI have never known a life like this except in my dreams

One kiss and I rose anew, now I'm alive, I have survived
I have never loved a girl like you except in my dreams
All my songs are for you, I finally see my dreams come trueI've never been so afraid that love is just a dream
Darlin' I'll awake and you'll be gone
Never believe that I could love somebody
Oh, I could love somebody, someone like you
(Never in my life)
Oh, I love somebody
(I love, I love, I love your love in my life)
Oh, I love somebody, someone like you
(Never in my life)
Oh, I could love somebody, someone like you
(I love, I love, I love your love in my life)
Never in my wildest dreams
(Oh, I love, I love, I love you)You're too early for the sun, too early for the moon
Too early for the rain comin' down on me
You make me feel so close to home
But so far away, like nowhere else I've ever beenYou're just too early for the stars, too early for the wind
Too early for my heart, to open up again
But when I see you I just laugh
And I believe, I'm right where I'm supposed to beOoh my darlin, welcome to the wind
As we sail our ship of dreams into uncharted waters
Were guided by the stars and love will lead the heart
So girl, let's ride the windSurrender to the sun, surrender to the moon
Surrender to the rain, surrender to the stars
Surrender to your heart, surrender to the wind
Take a chance, open up, let love beginSurrender to the sun, surrender to the moon
Surrender to the rain, surrender to the stars
Surrender to your fears, surrender to your tears
Take a chance, open up, let love beginSurrender to love, surrender to love, once again
Surrender to love, surrender to love, once again
Surrender to love, surrender to love, once again
Surrender to love, surrender to love, once again
Surrender to love, surrender to love, once again

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Kenny Loggins was born in Everett, WA, and moved to Los Angeles in his teens. He got a job as a staff writer and wrote four songs used on a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band album in 1970, among them the hit "House at Pooh Corner." This brought him to the attention of former Poco member Jim Messina, now a staff producer at CBS, who intended to produce Loggins' debut album. The two ended up in a duo, however, and Loggins & Messina made a series of successful albums during the '70s.

Loggins & Messina broke up in 1976, and Loggins went on to solo stardom with such million-selling albums as Celebrate Me Home, Nightwatch (which included the hit "Whenever I Call You Friend"), and Keep the Fire, all in the cheerful, sensitive style he had displayed in Loggins & Messina. Loggins also became known as the king of the movie soundtrack song, scoring Top Ten hits with "I'm Alright" (from Caddyshack), "Footloose" (from Footloose), "Danger Zone" (from Top Gun), and "Nobody's Fool" (from Caddyshack II). His own albums sold less well (and came less frequently) throughout the '80s, with later efforts like 1991's Leap of Faith, 1997's The Unimaginable Life and 1998's December finding favor primarily in adult contemporary circles; in 1994, he also issued a children's album, Return to Pooh Corner, and released its sequel More Songs from Pooh Corner in early 2000.
