Too Late for Lovers Lyrics

Step on my toes
Riddle my road
Now I can't find my own way back
Leave me to lie with you chasing my eyes
So I fall for you one last time
How do you know if a pocket of gold
Will ever be enough to say "I do"?[Chorus]No, now it's too late for lovers
Save me, why won't you save me?
When I gave you my whole world
To leave this holy roller trap
If I only knew the day that I lose would be up to you
Because you know you said forever
Still I am passing throughCut me a heart from the milkyway stars
To remember when we fell in love
You promised to take me on the carnival ride
But your ring a rosie shot that through
Now nothing you say and nothing we do will ever bring me back to you[Chorus]No, no it's too late for lovers
Save me, why won't you save me?

When I gave you my whole world
To leave this holy roller trap
If I only knew the day that I lose would be up to you
Because you know you said forever
Still I am passing throughYou knew that the gun was loaded
Still you brought me here
Now I am waiting at heavens door
Don't you leave me alone
Don't want to be here
All I see are angels
I am no angel[Chorus]It's too late for lovers
Save me, why won't you save me?
When I gave you my whole world
To leave this holy roller trap
If I only knew the day that I lose would be up to you
Because you know you said forever
Still I am passing throughOh it's too late for lovers
Save me, why won't you save me?
Because you know you said forever
Still I am passing through

Virginia "Gin" Wigmore is a New Zealand singer/songwriter who was born in Auckland, New Zealand, where she spent most of her childhood. However, while in Argentina at age 16 her father died of cancer. Upon her return to New Zealand, she articulated in song, the pain of losing her father. One of those early penned songs, “Hallelujah”, won the US-based International Songwriting Competition in 2004[2], when she beat 11,000 songwriting aspirants from 77 countries to become the youngest and only unsigned Grand Prize winner in the history of the ISC. "Hallelujah" was also featured in the season 6 finale of One Tree Hill.

Extended Play was Wigmore's first EP. It was produced by Tony Buchen (Blue King Brown, The Whitlams, Macromantics, Kid Confucius) and contains the tracks "Hallelujah", "These Roses", "SOS", "Under My Skin", and "Easy Come Easy Go". Released in 2008, it has peaked at number ten in the New Zealand charts. The EP was certified Gold in New Zealand on June 7, 2009, selling over 7,500 copies.[4]

Extended Play was released in Australia on 2 August 2008 by Island Records. Wigmore was the first artist signed with Island Records, a partner company with Universal Music Group, Australia[3].

The EP features renowned Australian musician John Butler on ukulele on Wigmore's song "SOS".[3]

Wigmore toured with Australian artist, Pete Murray, on his national tour in August/September 2008. Wigmore toured in 2008, including at the Cross Town Revue in Auckland, New Zealand, and in December 2008, toured with musicians John Mellencamp and Sheryl Crow in New Zealand.

Wigmore's sister, Lucy Wigmore, played Justine Jones in the long running New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street.

Recent work has seen her featured in the song and video of the new group, Smashproof, also from Auckland, New Zealand. The song, "Brother", was released in early 2009.
