Trainwreck 1979 Lyrics

I was born on the highway
In a train wreck
With a heart that was beating
Outta my chestSo now I follow it around the world
I can't keep up if I don't get it soon
I know I'll bleed until I drop'Cause I want it all
I can't get enough
'Cause I want it all
I can't get enoughThere's a darkness and a hollow
On the highway
Every cross on the roadside
Tells a storySo now I follow it around the world
I can't keep up
The story never ends as long as we have
Blood and cuts'Cause I want it all
I can't get enough
'Cause I want it all
I can't get enoughCan't get enough

I can't get enoughIt ran off the track, 11/79, while the immigrants slept
There wasn't much time
The mayor came calling and got 'em outta bed
They packed up their families and headed up windA poison cloud, a flaming sky
Two hundred thousand people and no one died
And all before the pocket dial
YeahI keep searching and searching
I keep searching and searchingNow I'm stranded, tied on the tracks
There's no hero, there's no villain
There's nobody I can blame, the story's still the same
I'm never satisfied
It's a problem with my brainI keep searching and searching
I keep searching and searching'Cause I want it all
I can't get enough
'Cause I want it all
I can't get enoughCan't get enough
I can't get enough
Can't get enough
I can't get enough
Can't get enough
I can't get enough
Can't get enough
I can't get enough

Death from Above 1979 are the Toronto-based duo of Jesse F. Keeler on bass/synths and Sebastien Grainger on vocals/drums. Refusing to employ a lead guitarist, they played loud synth infused dance punk on the drum and bass combination alone. Originally named just "Death From Above", the duo changed their name after a legal dispute with New York City dance-punk label Death From Above (known as DFA Records since the September 11, 2001 attacks).
