Trees Lyrics

I have always wanted a house among the trees
Where the cool of the day meets the green and the branches
I have always wanted a house among the leaves
Where the heat of the noon was as cool of the evening
High above the canopy the clouds of angel blue
Cast my mind into the deep
Never waking never sleep
Lost among the innocence and search for ever new
Know that I’ve been here before, high among the treetops there
I have always wanted a house among the trees
And I’d hide like a child in a garden of secrets
I would pass the time there exactly as I please
With no one to call – I’m in love with the forest
High above the swallow dives and dances out it’s song
Even though I hold my breath all this day is aching death
Green is of my solitude is where I must belong

No one speaks and no one seems
High, high up among the trees …
I have always wanted a house among the trees
Where the child I once was is the woman I dreamed of
Oooh…
Oooh…
When the cool of the day meats the green of the branches
And if you see me drifting I beg don’t call me back,
I’ll be gone with the weather,
abide with the leaves
