Twistin' the Night Away Lyrics

Let me tell you 'bout a place
Somewhere up a New York way
Where the people are so gay
Twistin' the night awayHere they have a lot of fun
Puttin' trouble on the run
Man, you find the old and young
Twistin' the night awayThey're twistin', twistin'
Everybody's feelin' great
They're twistin', twistin'
They're twistin' twistin' the night awayHere's a man in evenin' clothes
How he got here, I don't know, but
Man, you oughta see him go
Twistin' the night away
He's dancin' with the chick in slacks
She's a movin' up and back
Man there ain't nothin' like
Twistin' the night awayThey're twistin', twistin'
Everybody's feelin' great

They're twistin', twistin'
They're twistin' the night awayLet's twist a while!
Lean up, lean back
Lean up, lean back
Watusi, now Fly, now Twist
They're twistin' the night awayHere's a fella in blue jeans
Dancin' with a older queen
Who's dolled up in a diamond rings and
Twistin' the night away
Man, you oughta see her go
Twistin' to the rock and roll
Here you find the young and old
Twistin' the night awayThey're twistin', twistin'
Man, everybody's feelin' great
They're twistin', twistin'
They're twistin' the night awayOne more timeLean up, lean back
Lean up, lean back
Watusi, now Fly, now Twist
They're twistin' the night away

Marc Broussard (born January 14, 1982) is an American singer and songwriter. The Louisiana native released his first major album (with Island Def Jam Records) on August 3, 2004. The album's title Carencro pays tribute to the musician's hometown of Carencro, Louisiana. His style is best described as "Bayou Soul," a mix of funk, blues, R&B, rock, and pop, matched with distinct Southern roots.

Marc is best known for the songs "Where You Are" and "Home." Broussard previously released several independent efforts, including 2002's Momentary Setback which spawned the hit "The Wanderer", a song about self discovery. A re-worked version of the song appears on Carencro. As of July 2005, "Home" was released as a single.

Although Broussard is rather unknown, he is characteristically known and critically praised for his strong vocals. However, he has garnered an uptick in popularity thanks to a snappy tune "Must Be The Water" which is featured in television commercials on TNT for the 2008 NBA All-Star game held in New Orleans.
