Under Cover of Darkness Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Haa
Touch without seein', love with no feelin'
Stealin' a moment, under cover of darknessI'd like to kiss you, let my lips caress you
Sending sparks of passion up your spine
But doin' so means sayin' no
And even the thought would be a crimeI like to touch your skin, even if it is a sin
I'd rather burn than not touch you
I might just go mad, thinkin' what I might have had
All the things I'd like to doSafe seduction, isn't what it is
Sexuality, isn't what it appears to be

It's what you think you see(You know you can't do without)
I wanna make you hot
Touch that spot and send you on a trip
But my consequences, abstinence and
Lord knows I just can't sleep
(You know what I'm talkin' about)I wanna feel you, the real you
Not the projection that you let me see
The safest sex is when it's not skin to skin
It's very simple let your mind go freeSafe seduction, isn't what it is, auh
Sexuality, isn't what it appears to be
It's what you think you seeTo do or not to do that is the question
Over and over you're prone suggestion
Some senses when I can't condone the fact
That you wanna make your bed my home
Let's say I take this man as my lover
And he swears that there will never be another
But really he doesn't give a damn about safe sex
And with all these other girls he has a taste test
Well the thrill doesn't outweigh the consequences
Therefore I am usin' my common senses
To let you know I adore you
But I'm afraid I'm not the one for youAhh, yea, ooh
Ha,ha,haSafe seduction, isn't what it is
Sexuality, isn't what it appears to be
It's what you think you seeSafe seduction, isn't what it is
Sexuality, isn't what it appears to be
Ain't what it appears to be
(You know you wanna mess)

Living Colour is a funk metal group formed in New York city in 1984. They signed to Epic Records in 1987 and released their first album, Vivid, in 1988.

Stylistically their music is a creative fusion influenced by guitar-based rock such as hardcore punk and heavy metal, and traditional African-American music such as jazz, funk, and hip-hop. They are linked to the funk metal/alternative metal movement of the late 1980s typified by bands such as Fishbone, Jane's Addiction, Primus, Faith No More, and 24-7 Spyz. They are best remembered for the hit Cult of Personality, which won a Grammy Award for best hard rock performance in 1989. They were also named Best New Artist at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards. The singer, Corey Glover, had a role in the movie 'Platoon', directed by Oliver Stone.

The first two albums bassist Muzz Skillings contributed to the music, before leaving in 1992 due to creative differences. They were inactive from 1995-2000, and since their return have operated as a regular touring unit, as well as releasing one new studio release, Collide0Scope, one compilation of b-sides & rarities, and one live album from their early performances at the now mythical CBGB's. All four have released solo albums and session work, Doug Wimbish and Will Calhoun also are in both Jungle Funk and Head>>Fake, Corey Glover is also doing musical theatre, Vernon Reid has several projects, and Wimbish also has returned to various projects related to his other longstanding collaborators Adrian Sherwood, Keith Leblanc, and Skip McDonald.

The band are set to release their new album, The Chair in the Doorway, on September 15th of this year on Megaforce.
