Under Fire Lyrics

Call me a doctor of defense
Or maybe Im a fix
(Baby, Im a mess)
And I know since youll forget
Call me baby, call me crazy, yeah, yeah, yeahTake these pills everyday
To kill your apathy for living
Yeah, for livin', yeah, yeah(This is)
This is the sound of your body under fire
(These are)
These are my eyes finding you in the door
We are the voices of an underground choir
Save your breath, you wont be heardI found the villain in your bed
A blanket full of lies
(A pillow you can sweat)
So is this what you call love
Call me crazy, listen, baby, yeah, yeah, yeahStop sniffing on your cocaine
Ill be your drug for the pain
For all the pain, yeah, yeah(This is)

This is the sound of your body under fire
(These are)
These are my eyes finding you in the door
We are the voices of an underground choir
Save your breath you wont be heardFalling for the stories they said and believed in
Nothing but the truth we wrote on the ceiling
Break out your bullets it wont be enough for
Stopping all your jail mates from turning intoPeople on the side reaching for a loaded gun for you
They will scream your name before I do(This is)
This is the sound of your body under fire
(These are)
These are my eyes finding you in the door
We are the voices of an underground choir
We are the voices of an underground choir
We are the voices of an underground choir(This is)
This is the sound of your body under fire
(These are)
These are my eyes finding you in the door
You got the voices of an underground choir(This is)
This is the sound of your body under fire
(These are)
These are my eyes finding you in the door
We are the voices of an underground choir
Save your breath you wont be heard

In 2003, Halifax was just another in a myriad of unsigned indie outfits rolling the highways of North America. Sharing van space, shitty hotel rooms, bodily aromas, Old Milwaukee and a collective dream in between crappy jobs in chain restaurants and landscaping, the group recorded and supported its initial EP, A Writer’s Reference. Within a year’s time, Halifax found itself among the rookie bands on the 2004 Warped Tour.
