Under Your Breath Lyrics

Hangin' in the underground
Before a train back out of town, away from you
All the lights disappear
In the tunnels way down here, it's quite a viewSometimes I wish, I were deaf
Then I wouldn't hear the words you say
Under your breath
Under your breathLocked away in your room
On the phone with someone who, she thinks out loud
Thought she found the right to leave
Think of the things you used to need and I'd run outSometimes I wish, I were deaf
But I hear the words you say
Under your breath
Under your breathAnything that you put on me
All the things your head needs, you believe
Read my mind 'cause I can't say anything
The sick heart potion, two parts pain one part true againSometimes I wish, I were deaf
But I hear the words you say
Under your breath

Under your breath

Whiskeytown was an alt-country band from Raleigh, North Carolina founded in 1994 and fronted by Ryan Adams along with violinist Caitlin Cary. The band produced a number of albums before ultimately parting ways in 2000. Other members of the group included guitarists Mike Daly and Phil Wandscher, bassist Steve Grothmann and drummer Skillet Gilmore. Adams and Cary have publicly talked of reuniting Whiskeytown on multiple occasions, as recently as 2005, but as of yet, nothing new has materialized. The two did perform together briefly, along with Skillet Gilmore, on June 8, 2005, in Raleigh.
