Underneath the Sun Lyrics

1st verse:
Birds are busy building nests in the tree branches
And all the squirrels are burying nuts before the winter hitsChorus:
Clouds roll by and the rivers they run,
Underneath the sun
Rain falls down and waters the ground2nd verse:
The cherry tree, is forming buds for the blossom to come
And the tall pine tree towers above the saxifrageChorus:
Underneath the sun
Clouds roll by and the rivers they run,
Underneath the sun
Rain falls down and waters the ground3rd verse:
Where people are sure that everyone, Even little ones
And trains will be ringing an roll through the night to their destinationsChorus:
Underneath the sun
Why does this happen and what have we done
Underneath the sun
While clouds roll by and rivers they run,

What have we done
While rain falls down and waters the ground
Underneath the sunBridge:

Bill Fay is a singer-songwriter and pianist from London. Fay began writing songs in the early 1960s while attending university and in 1966 cut a demo using a mobile studio belonging to a man named John Boden. Impressed by the demo, ex-Them drummer Terry Noon helped Bill to sign a recording contract with Decca. In 1967 the label released the single "Some Good Advice"/"Screams In The Ears", produced by early Donovan co-manager Peter Eden. The single "introduced [Fay's] characteristic downbeat melodies and scrambled impressionistic lyrics", according to allmusic reviewer Richie Unterberger.
