Unknown Lyrics

It's been so long, I can't hold on
All this suffering I've done
I can't escape, cause inside I'm breaking
Inside I'm breaking up
I've been used, and it's all I can do
To wash it awayHave I become a face to a new name?
I've tried to make it up enough
Are we better off, are we better off unknownI face a new day
Will you meet me there or disappear with no trace
It's happened again
No more wind under broken wings to remind me of angels
My life's been pages, open books
Of an empty, careless impossible wasteI can't escape, will your words confine me, or will they set me free
Am I the only one to blame, for all the games we play?
Are we better off, are we better off unknownHold on to me for one more day
I feel I'm fading away
Are we better off, are we better off unknownAm I the only one to blame, for all the games we play?
Are we better off, are we better off unknownI'm better off unknown

Mark Crozer is a British singer, guitarist, songwriter and composer. Crozer was born in Cambridge, England but grew up in Oxford. Later in life he moved to Montreal, Canada and then to Vancouver, Canada where he released two solo albums. He now lives in North Carolina, USA.

In 2007, after many years writing, recording and performing as a solo artist, Mark was asked to join The Jesus and Mary Chain when the band reformed after a 9 year hiatus. During his time as rhythm guitarist with the band he performed at festivals such as Coachella, Summersonic in Japan, Rock en Seine in France, V-Fest in Australia and many others. The band also performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, recorded “All Things Must Pass” for the NBC show ‘Heroes’ and headlined club dates in the USA, UK, Japan and Australia.

As a solo artist Mark self-released two albums in the 1990s. Songs from these albums received radio airplay around the world. The title track of his second album ‘Unnatural World’ was used in the opening scene in the season debut of series two of Canadian TV drama Tribu.com.

In 2007 US record label Planting Seeds Records released an EP of material by Mark’s new band International Jetsetters. Their ‘Heart Is Black’ EP was warmly received gaining them great press from indie journals and music blogs around the world but particularly in the USA. The EP aired on over 200 US college radio stations and received weekly airplay for a month on LA’s KROQ.

In February 2011, Planting Seeds re-issued Mark’s first two solo albums and an EP of new material. In the most recent issue of indie music magazine The Big Takeover (Issue 68), Jack Rabid describes ‘To Get To You’ as a “classic, as is a cover of The Cure’s 1985 The Head on the Door’s “A Night Like This,” a treat for fans of Ride’s Carnival of Light. The a-side’s A-Ok, too!"

Mark has recently contributed an original song to Ramseur Records (home of The Avett Brothers) for their 2011 Christmas compilation album.

Mark is currently writing and recording material for a new album. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
