Unnecessarily Mercenary Lyrics

Youre just into looking after number 1
Only thing you worry bout is having your fun
First sign of trouble its understood
Youll get going while the goings still goodYoure so very unnecessarily mercenaryYoure a secret agent got a hidden agenda
Got me in your sights, think Im a real big spender
Stick around, baby, pretty soon youll see
I aint got no money but my loves for freeYoure so very unnecessarily mercenaryYoure a gun for hire when a war breaks out
Loving on the front line till the money runs out
Finger on the trigger, baby, pull it and see
If your mercenary tactics gonna work on meYoure a gun for hire when a war breaks out
Loving on the front line till the money runs out
Your fingers on the trigger, baby, pull it and see
If your mercenary tactics gonna work on meYoure so very unnecessarily mercenary
Youre so very unnecessarily mercenarySo very unnecessarily mercenary
Youre so very unnecessarily mercenaryYoure so very unnecessarily mercenary
Youre so very unnecessarily mercenaryYoure so very unnecessarily mercenary
Youre so very unnecessarily mercenary

Bonnie Raitt, (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues and R&B singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in Burbank, California, the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt. Raitt began playing guitar at an early age, something not a lot of her high school girlfriends did. "I had played a little at school and at camp," she later recalled in a July 2002 interview. "My parents would drag me out to perform for my family, like all parents do, but it was a hobby—nothing more...I think people must wonder how a white girl like me became a blues guitarist.
