Upon Waking She Found Herself a Cougar Lyrics

To rise is to fall
At every turn theres another wall
Is it true or a lie?
The more I see the more I hideAnd to live for tonight
All these thoughts that I have inside
In a dream there is peace
Swinging gently in front of meTheres a day, theres a way
To find just what Ive been looking for
In the sky I see light
There still is time now to get this rightStep in, breathe out
The cougar is weight that has kept me down
To swim is to face
The rising tide that will take my placeTheres a day, theres a way
To find just what Ive been looking for
In the sky I see light
There still is time now to get this rightIts all that Ive been looking for
Love through an open door
It was all that I was looking for

Your love through an open doorTheres a day, theres a way
To find just what Ive been looking for
In the sky I see light
There still is time now to get this rightTheres a day, theres a way
To find just what Ive been looking for
In the sky I see light
There still is time now to get this rightIts all that Ive been looking for
Love through an open door
It was all that I was looking for
Your love through an open door

While it’s common practice in rock bios to liken an act to something familiar, it’s hard to do that with San Diego’s We Shot The Moon. That’s because it’s virtually impossible to compare them to any other band out there…not for more than a track or two, at least. We Shot The Moon--led by former Waking Ashland frontman Jonathan Jones--is a piano-heavy indie rock five-piece that formed in the year 2007. On September 29, the band releases its infectious sophomore LP, A Silver Lining, the follow-up to 2008’s Fear and Love, on Minneapolis-based label Afternoon Records.
