Vanity and Greed Lyrics

Don't say you miss me, yet I must concede
There's something I have to explain
It isn't easy playing your way
I can't even begin to sayI'm taking back my choices
I'm gonna take us downI've seen the bravest lions shy away
I've seen the tallest tress fall down
I've made a hobby of self-deprecating
My honesty and my integrityDon't let me take us nowDon't say goodnight, say goodbye
You can't mend us now
You can't fix a shattered heart
Don't even tryI'll sell you every ounce of honesty
You'll buy it all and lie with me
I can't pretend there's any truth to me
It's all just vanity and greedLet me take and call you a crier
I'm gonna need it moreDon't say goodnight, say goodbye
You can't mend us now
You can't fix a shattered heart
Don't even tryHere's my advice if you know what's good for you

Don't let your guard down, don't let your guard down
Here's my advice if you know what's good for you
Don't let your guard down, don't let your guard downHere's my advice if you know what's good for you
Don't let your guard down, don't let your guard down
Here's my advice if you know what's good for you
Don't let your guard down, don't let your guard down nowDon't let me drag you downDon't say goodnight, say goodbye
You can't mend us now
You can't fix a shattered heart
Don't even tryDon't say goodnight, say goodbye
You can't mend us down
You can't fix a shattered heart
Don't even tryI'm taking back my choices
I'm gonna drag us down
Let me take and call you a crier
I'm gonna need it more

Silverstein is a 5-piece rock band from Burlington, Ontario, Canada; formed in 2000. The band name was taken from the famous children's author Shel Silverstein. After several lineup changes, the band acquired Billy Hamilton, a local fan who learned of the band's need for a bassist on the Internet message board "The 905 Board" (an Ontario area outreach board which used to be for local musicians). In Christmas of 2001, he joined the band after Shane Told helped him learn the music for the songs. Following a rehearsal on Boxing Day (December 26) in 2001, he officially debuted with Silverstein.
