Very Special Love Lyrics

She said, "I spent eight years in California
That's the reason why I talk the way I do
But I've heard how Southern men respect the ladies
And I'd like to meet a gentleman like you"Well, I spent most of my life in Alabama
That's the reason why I talk the way I do
And I've always had this thing for sun-tanned ladies
And I'd really like to spend some time with youAnd we walked on the beach till early morning
And we watched as the sun came up again
And somehow we both shared the feelin'
That we'd just made a very special friendTomorrow I'll go back to Alabama
And you'll fly from Atlanta to L.A.
And I'll get back to takin' care of bus'ness,
And you'll go back to starrin' on the stageBut we'll think of the beach come Monday morning
When both of us get back to push and shove
And somehow we will always remember
The night we shared a very special loveI spent most of my life in Alabama
That's the reason why I talk the way I do
I know we shared a very special friendship

The night we made a very special love

Alabama is a country music band from Fort Payne, Alabama that was started in 1969 but did not get a recording contract until 1977. Alabama began by singing for tips around Myrtle Beach before going on to sell millions of records. They were among the first successful country groups since the mid-1970s, thanks to their blend of contemporary and traditional country and southern rock. On July 4-93 they opened a $7-million, 2,200-seat theater, located in Barefoot Landing-Myrtle Beach South Carolina.

The members of Alabama are:

- Randy Owen (vocals and rhythm guitar)
- Teddy Gentry, (vocals and bass guitar)
- Jeff Cook (lead guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin)
- Mark Herndon (drums and percussion)

Along with the Oak Ridge Boys and the Statler Brothers, Alabama is recognized as having paved the way for today's top country groups, including Diamond Rio, Lonestar and Rascal Flatts.
