Wait For the Blackout Lyrics

Don't you ask me to come out
When the sun does shine
Let us stay here with curtains drawn
In darkness you'll be mineLet's wait for the blackout
The light is too bright
Let's wait for the blackout
Wait for the nightWell welcome to my basement flat
No windows to see through
With darkness closing in my friend
We'll both know what to doLet's wait for the blackout
The light is too bright
Let's wait for the blackout
Wait for the nightCome lay with me upon the earth
That keeps us both alive
No living thing has lasted here
Yet we shall both surviveLet's wait for the blackout
The light is too bright
Let's wait for the blackout

Wait for the nightIn darkness there is no sin
Light only brings the fear
Nothing to corrupt the eyes
There is no vision here
At first you may find it strange
But do not go away
The darkness holds a power
That you won't find in the dayThere is no vision here
There is no vision here

The Damned are a punk rock group originally from Croydon, England, a suburb of London, who were formed in 1976. Despite being one of the definitive early punk bands they were also one of the most ambitious; with their later albums moving away from the breakneck garage sound of their debut and taking in elements from goth and psychedelia to prog and metal. They are notable for being the first of the British punk bands to release a single, put out an album, and tour the United States.
