Wait a Little Longer, Please, Jesus Lyrics

Here the labor is so hard the workers are so tired
And our weary hearts are yearning for a rest
And we find we're getting anxious to be in that happy home
Where we'll receive such peace and happinessBut wait a little longer please Jesus
There are so many still wandering out in sin
Just a little longer please Jesus
A few more days to get our loved ones inWe may look into the skies and tears will fill our eyes
For our burdened hearts grow heavier with each day
First we cry oh Lord, please come
Come and take your children home
But then we look around us and sayWait a little longer please Jesus
There are so many still wandering out in sin
Just a little longer please Jesus
A few more days to get our loved ones inThe family scattered here and there
But Lord we love them dear
And maybe we can help them find a way
But if waiting is the cost then might not be lost
Lord that's the only reason why we sayWait a little longer please Jesus

There are so many still wandering out in sin
Just a little longer please Jesus
A few more days to get our loved ones in

Franklin Delano "Del" Reeves (July 14, 1932 – January 1, 2007) was a country music singer, best known for his "girl-watching" novelty-type songs of the 1960s. He became one of the most successful male country singers of the 1960s. Reeves was named after Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who had been nominated by the Democratic Party to be their presidential nominee just a few days before he was born. Del Reeves is probably best known for his fair share of 1960s hits.
