Wake Up (Acoustic) Lyrics

I've been buried in the sand,
I've come down with no place to land
I don't need you to understand it's not what I had plannedAll the hunger, all the yearning
With the lifeline, that you're burning
Poison lessons that you're learning
The road ahead is turning[Chorus]
Suicidal education (wake up, wake up)
It got sold to our generation (wake up, wake up)
Wake up to the, manipulation (wake up, wake up)
Wake up to the situation (wake up, wake up)
Suicidal education (wake up)Stick together, side by side
We no longer, need to hide
From the darkness, into the light
Now is your timeI need something to know the pain
Forget me and forget my name
Waited for the, time to arrive
No one gets out of here alive[Chorus]Wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up

Wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up
Wake up,
Wake upI've been buried in the sand,
I've come down with no place to land
I don't need you to understand it's not what I had plannedSuicidal education
It got sold to our generationWake up to the, manipulation
Wake up to the, situation
Suicidal educationSuicidal education
It got sold to our generation

The Living End formed in 1994 after lead singer/guitarist Chris Cheney and bassist Scott Owen were introduced to each other by their older sisters at Wheelers Hill Secondary College in Melbourne, Australia. Cheney, obsessed with 80s rockabilly group the Stray Cats, convinced Owen to learn the double bass instead of the piano and they started playing gigs under the name Runaway Boys after the title of a Stray Cats song. The group went through a succession of drummers before settling on Joe Piripitzi.
