Walkabout Lyrics

Investigate what your ancestors left you
A wreath, a God and belief in slavery
You fight away this monochrome pact
It's legal action, it's matter of fact
(That)The Romans hailed a Sun God
The Christians tortured Jews
Together is that belief for youWalkabout the rock
It may give you a few answers
Don't lie about the rockWalkabout the rock
It gives me all the answers
Don't lie about the rockWhat better way to conquer a nation
Than steal away its spiritual release
When after all the door is left wide open
Hey men of God, say what do you preach?Walkabout the rock
It may give you a few answers
Don't lie about the rockWalkabout the rock
It gives me all the answers
Don't lie about the rockSo maybe it's dream time

Close your eyes and drift away
Dream time
Close your eyes don't fight itYou believe what you believe
Without question, without waste
You inoculate the children
Against their reason, against their fateYou pray for mystical decisions
Through the gates
We are inside, this is our final stateWalkabout the rock
It may give you a few answers
Don't lie about the rockWalkabout the rock
It gives me all the answers
Don't lie about the rockDream, dream time
Close your eyes and drift away
Dream time
Close your eyesTo every man a kingdom
For the better of man's estate
Dream timeYou believe what you believe
Without question, without waste
There's no dream timeWalkabout the rock
It may give you a few answers
Don't lie about the rockWalkabout the rock
It gives me all the answers
Don't lie about the rock

The Fixx is a British new wave band formed in 1980. The group was formed by college friends Cy Curnin (vocals) and Adam Woods (drums). The pair placed an ad for additional members. Jamie West-Oram (guitar), Rupert Greenall (keyboards) and Charlie Barret (bass) joined the band as a result. Barret left after the first album and was replaced by Dan K. Brown. They are perhaps best remembered for their song "One Thing Leads To Another", from their most successful album, the 1983 Reach The Beach. Other hits include, "Red Skies", "Stand or Fall", "Saved by Zero" and "Are We Ourselves?".
