It could have been early in the morning,
when God called His Son to His side.
He gently put His arm around Him
and said “Son, the world needs a sacrifice.
I watched as Cain sleuth his only brother.
I felt the pain when Samson gave his life.
I’ve listened to the cries of those in prison.
Now I’m asking you to give for them your life.
Will You go for the one whose never had a home.
For all the children who are hungry and all alone.
For the man who makes his living working under ground.
For everyone, will You go?
It could have been that same evening when Jesus stood to His feet,

and He walked through the ages of time.
He watched a little boy leave this life too soon,
and a mom and dad that nearly lost their mind.
He felt the pain of brothers fighting brothers.
He felt the grief of families torn apart.
He listened to a sinking ship’s choir singing “Nearer My God to Thee”.
I wonder if when Jesus saw His footsteps from the manager to the cross, that that’s when He knew He would give His life for a world that was lost.
I’ll go for the one whose never, never had a home.
