Wanna Be A Rock 'N' Roll Star Lyrics

Well, ever since I was young, I'd sing in my home
Those crazy songs I heard on the radio
Rock 'n' roll melodies drove me frantically
Soon I would be tapping on the tableMy mother would jump and shout
She'd say, "What's that noise about?"
And finally turn that dial back to her station
But I knew right then I'd turn that dial back again, and I
Knew right then I would make it'Cause I wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rock 'n' roll starYes, I wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rock 'n' roll starWhen the DJ say
"My music coming your way," I always waited
Soon, I'd be shaking my hips and doing the Elvis twist
Dreaming 'bout the day I would make it'Cause I wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rock n roll starYeah, I wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rocker

Wanna be a rock n roll starI wanna be a rock 'n' roll star
I wanna drive a big black car
I wanna be a rock 'n' roll starNo, no, no, no, noMy mother says I'm lazy
My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy
But I want to be a rock 'n' roll star'Cause I want a mansion on the hills
I want to burn a thousand dollar bill
I wanna be a rock 'n' roll starEvery night before I go to sleep, you know
I pray to God, say
"Oh God, dear God,
Me and the boys been working so very hard""Oh God
Dear God up in heaven
I been working so very hard"
Now, now, nowIf I worked in a hospital
I'd wanna be the doctor
If I was in the army, whoa
I'd wanna be the generalIf I worked on a garbage truck, well
I'd wanna be the driver, yeah
And since I been playing for so many years
I tell you right now, I'm gonna play:
Madison Square GardenAlright, let's give it to 'em - right nowWanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rock 'n' roll starOh, I wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rock 'n' roll starOh, I wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rock 'n' roll starOh, I wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rocker
Wanna be a rock 'n' roll star

Eddie Money (born Edward Joseph Mahoney, March 2, 1949 in New York City, United States) is an American rock singer-songwriter who found success in the 1970s and 1980s with a string of Top 40 hits and platinum albums. Rock impresario Bill Graham said of Money "Eddie Money has it all...Not only can he sing, write and play, but he is a natural performer." After becoming a police officer, like his father, during the late 1960s, Money began to be interested in music, and eventually ended his law enforcement career in favor of becoming a musician.
