K.Prater (born Kevin Shamar Prater on July 26, 1986) is an American R&B and Hip Hop artist. Raised in the Lincoln Park sector of Thomaston, Georgia, Prater grew up under heavy influence of artist(s) such Atlantic Star, Midnight Starr, SOS Band, Marvin Gaye, Babyface, Joe, Jodeci and R.Kelly. He would begin producing and later begin pinning numerous songs before discovering that he had a gift. After graduating high school, he moved to Austell, GA a suburb of Atlanta to attend college.
