War Baby Lyrics

Only the very young, and the very beautiful can be so aloof
Hanging out with the boys, all swagger and poise
I don't even care when other people are there
I just stare, and stare, and stareI see your shadow in the swimming pool
See your face in the shaving mirror
Time and time, and time again
I follow your footsteps so quietly up the back stairs
I'm hoping to pray, that you'll never find me thereSmooth skin and tenderness, when we're going in the dark night
Wish I could see you once again
just to remember that it was true
I wanna still be beside you
Quiet and still beside you
Just listening to your breathing
Feeling you once againWar Baby
War Baby
This means War Baby
I'm scared, so scared
Whatever is it you keep putting me throughSounds like somebody is out there in the night

Might just be the voice, of someone I once knew
Hear me, father and mother, if I should cry out loud
As a mean, and violent candle
At the foot of my own bedCorresponding disasters, every night on the T.V.
Sickening reality keep creeping me with it's guts
My friends all talking jokes, may laugh about armageddon
Like a nightmare, it's still waiting there
And the end of each and every day.War Baby
You are a war Baby
This means, War Baby
Oh, I'm scared, so scared
Whatever it is you keep putting me throughWar Baby
You are a War Baby
Doing whatever rolls
War Baby
I'm scared, so scared
Whatever it is you keep putting me throughI don't think I can stand another 10 years of this fighting
Always stabbing and wouding, only getting my own back
Coz if it's really true, and we're all in this together
Well something's bound to give soon
And it sure as hell isn't gonna be me'Cause you were the first one, I would've ever wanted
And it's you, I come home to, at the end of every day
Like a mother circling baby, so demanding and helpless
Ohhh I can remember the revolting hair, her whole wrinkles, and bulging eyesWar baby
You are a War Baby
Well this means, War baby
I'm scared, so scared
Whatever it is you keep putting me throughSo here we all are
And the king of the Yogunt
On a cold dark friday night
Forgotten about the world outsideOut on their houses
People finish their dinner and watch TV
Get ready for bed and dream about the weekend
But you and me, we were so alone
In the middle of a crowded room

Big Wreck was a neo-progressive hard rock band of the late 1990s.

The band was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1995 by vocalist Ian Thornley, guitarist Brian Doherty, bassist Dave Henning and drummer Forrest Williams, who met as students at the Berklee College of Music. After several years of gigging in Boston and Cambridge, the band signed to a major label and released its debut album In Loving Memory Of... in 1997. The single The Oaf was a major Top Ten hit for the band that year.

Due to Thornley's Canadian nationality, the band's biggest commercial success was actually in Canada rather than the United States. The album's subsequent singles, Blown Wide Open and That Song, were not as successful on the American charts as The Oaf had been, but in Canada they were both Top Ten hits.

In October of 2001, Big Wreck played a special show at Toronto's Roy Thompson Hall accompanied by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Uzume Taiko Ensemble of drummers, with The Tragically Hip's Paul Langlois and Robby Baker also making appearances.

The band's second album The Pleasure and the Greed (released in 2001) was marred by poor marketing and was not as big a hit as their debut album, especially in the United States. The band subsequently broke up a year later in 2002.

Thornley moved back to Toronto, launching the band Thornley. Doherty has gone on to be in the indie band Death of 8, but the other band members never emerged with new projects.

Ian and Brian rekindled their friendship, which lead to a reunion in 2011

New album titled "Albatross" released on iTunes on March 6, 2012

Subsequent 2012 Canadian tour announced.
