Wasteland Lyrics

Now I'm sitting on a plane
Lonely flight back to L.A.
Don't come back with meSo I'll drink myself to sleep
Cut my skin until I bleed
Hold my breath all the night'Cause it's 5 o'clock, the hour stops the sunlight
The buildings shade the masquerade and kill time, timeHear the sound
She was naked on the ground
Till I whispered in her earCome away
Watch the dawn break through the day
Till the sun is underneath'Cause it's 5 o'clock, the hour stops the sunlight
The buildings shade the masquerade and kill time
Here we're nothin' more than fools and whores and sad highs
Through the summer sand, we're living in, living in a wasteland
No, no, noIt's a wasteland
It's a wasteland
It's a wasteland for meHere we're nothin' more than fools and whores and sad highs
Through the summer sand, we're living in, living in a wasteland
We're nothin' more than fools and whores and sad highs

Through the summer sand, we're living in, we're living in a wastelandIt's a wasteland
It's a wasteland
It's a wasteland for me, for me

Augustana is an alternative rock (or piano rock) band that originally met and formed at Greenville College in Greenville, IL. The original band members included Dan Layus, Josiah Rosen, Simeon Lohrmann, and Kyle Baker. The band recorded Midwest Skies and Sleepless Mondays on campus in early 2003. After locally releasing their Mayfield EP, the band parted ways with drummer Kyle Baker and bass player Simeon Lohrmann; and added Josh Calhoun (drums) and Jared Palomar (originally keys, moved to bass guitar) to the lineup.
