We Say Goodbye (West) Lyrics

Everything goes slowly but the things that go by fast
Everything you think will stay is never gonna last
Everything that starts out right eventually goes south
There were times I know it now, I should have shut my mouthIf you want to go then go
If you want to stay then stay
There's nothing I can do to get through to you
When you're treating me this way
So tell me if
This is where
We say goodbye
I hope that we can give it one more try
I know that I can be a better guy this time
Or maybe that's a lieSo ease up on the gas now boy
Before she gets away
Sometimes you can chase a thing
Right out of your own way
I just sayIf you want to go then go
If you want to stay then stay

There's nothing I can do to get through to you
When you're treating me this way
So tell me if
This is where
We say goodbye
I hope that we can give it one more try
I know that I can be a better guy this time
Or maybe that's a lie
But it's one that I live byI'd rather be a bleeding heart
Than a heartless bastardBut if you want to go then go
If you want to stay then stay
Don't say the end
Has come againCause I never want to say goodbye
I hope that we could give it one more try
I swear I'm gonna be a better guy this time
Or maybe that's a lie
But it's one that I live byI never want to say goodbye
I know that we should give it one more try
I swear I'm gonna be a better guy this time
Or maybe that's a lie
But it's one that I live by

Stephen Kellogg (born November 28, 1976, in Westchester, Pennsylvania) is an American singer-songwriter. He founded his band Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers in 2003. They went on hiatus in Autumn 2012 and in December 2012 Kellogg began working on a solo record, his first solo release since 2002. It's said that the musical urge in Kellogg started with a mixture of his dad's records (Cat Stevens/Jim Croce) and his sister's (Mötley Crüe/Bon Jovi). The songwriting of the former and the showmanship of the latter was the beginning of the musical attitude that pervades Kellogg's work today.
