Weekend Driver Lyrics

Waitin' for the weekend, soon be comin' around
Hangin' out with my best friend, I'm so glad I found
My weekday emotions, gonna leave 'em behind
When we get together, it's crazy timeI'm talkin' 'bout my weekend driver, can't live without
I'm talkin' 'bout my weekend driver, yeahWaitin' for the weekend, watch the clock on the wall
Throw me in at the deep end, hear me when I call
Workin' week survivor, she's so cool and refined
But we get together, she's another kindI'm talkin' 'bout my weekend driver, can't live without
I'm talkin' 'bout my weekend driver, yeahDon't matter how far we go, it's back to work on Monday
The weekend's just another memory, yeahI'm talkin' 'bout my weekend driver, can't live without
I'm talkin' 'bout my weekend driver, yeahI'm talkin' 'bout my weekend driver, can't live without, yeah
I'm talkin' 'bout my weekend driver, yeahYeah, yeah, oh yeah, yeah
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah

In the late 1960s, Roger Earl and Lonesome Dave Peverett first toured America as members of the seminal British band Savoy Brown . Together with guitarist Kim Simmonds, Savoy Brown was on the cutting edge of the emerging British blues-rock scene, and they influenced countless musicians on both sides of the Atlantic. In 1971, wanting to give a more rock 'n roll flavour to the blues-boogie music they were playing with Savoy, Dave and Roger enlisted lead/slide guitarist Rod Price and bassist Tony Stevens, formed a new band, Foghat.
